Days sans Petanque: A little less talk and a lot more distraction

Kids. Do not try this at home. These guys are trained professionals. Well. At least one of them is. The rest are just winging it.

Some times we do things out of character for us, because we're bored out of our minds, or to add a little spice to our lives, or out of desperation because what have we got to lose. I'm thinking of trying something wild and crazy. I'm talking bonsai. I know there's a club in Santa Rosa. Any of you know if we have something going in Sonoma? After watching Ford v Ferrari on Youtube I clicked a link. I know. I know. Click bait and all that. What I like about the bonsai idea is that, like petanque, you can do most of it while standing in one place. A little foliage, a little tray, a little soil, maybe some wire and pruning shears and Bob's your uncle, Bonsai! Annnnd, I can do it at home.

I mean if Shelby and Miles could build a Le Mans winning car in ninety days, I should be able to turn a bush into an artsy tree in however long this shelter-in-place thing lasts. And maybe, if I get really into this thing, the powers that be will open up our park for petanque and give me an excuse to abandon this hair-brained idea.

We had given this one up for dead last year. But with a little TLC (meaning watering it), it is coming back to life.

Anyway. Let us know what you're up to. I am so impressed by Dave's massive maple planting job.
