Days of Petanque: Carreau

———
I did have one blindingly brief moment of petanque perfection. My first attempt at shooting in which Hans held his hands over the target boule and said, "Put it right in my hands. Trust me. I'll move." And somehow, miracles of miracles, I tossed it and it was a carreau! Tim Wetzel said, "Never shoot again. You are at 100%." Too bad I didn't take his advice.

"I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business."
― Michael J. Fox

"Persistence. Perfection. Patience. Power. Prioritize your passion. It keeps you sane."
― Criss Jami, Killosophy

"One minute was enough, Tyler said, "A person had to work hard for it, but a minute of perfection was worth the effort. A moment was the most you could ever expect from perfection."
― Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

"Perfection of character is this: to live each day as if it were your last, without frenzy, without apathy, without pretence."
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

"Nobody's perfect. We're all just one step up from the beasts and one step down from the angels." ― Jeannette Walls, Half Broke Horses. Unsubscribe now and you will move one step higher towards the angels.
