Days of Petanque: Focus

Date: February 5, 2020 at 8:34:46 PM PST

The trick they tell me is to focus, concentrate on the jack and the body will take care of the rest.
They say forget the cochonnet and concentrate on the donnée.
They also tell me it's all in the wrist. A flick right at the end will put it right on target.
They say, you should end up pointing your fingers where you want the boule to go.
They tell me at the end of the throw your palm should be facing the cochonnet.
They say lock your elbow and keep it in tight to your body.
They say crock you wrist as far back as it will go to give the boule maximum backspin.
They say bring you back swing as far as you can and bring it through smoothly.
They say dip your shoulder to release the tendon tunnel.
They say bring your other arm back as well to keep you from twisting your body.
They say keep you feet together and pointed forward.
They say pint your dominant foot facing the pig and the other slightly behind at an angle for stability.
They say la roulette is the best throw for beginners.
They say la roulette is nearly useless on very rocky terrain.
They say la plombée can be deadly on rocky terrain or very soft ground.
They say la plombée is very difficult to learn and beginner should stick to demi-portée
They say the squatty position is the best way to read the piste
Squatty is out of the question for me.
They say this game is fun.
I don't know who they think they are talking to.
But I don't think it's me.
